Royal College of Music named as top university for music in the UK

The Royal College of Music (RCM), one of our founders, has been ranked first for music in the 2016 Guardian University League Table.

The Guardian’s University guide states that ‘students at London's Royal College of Music have no excuse not to feel inspired’, praising the RCM’s location, ‘top-notch’ facilities and care in preparing students for viable careers in the music industry.

Michael Elliott, Chief Executive at ABRSM, says, ‘We congratulate RCM on their achievements. Together with RCM and our partners at the Royal Academy of Music, the Royal Northern College of Music and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, we’re investing not only in the education of talented musicians, but also in the next generation of performers, teachers, leaders and ambassadors for musical learning worldwide.’

ABRSM scholarships

The RCM attracts more than 600 students from over 50 countries annually. Each year ABRSM awards 18 scholarships to students at the RCM where 97% of its graduates enter employment or further studying within six months of graduation.
