Violin is the latest instrument to be added to ABRSM’s Encore series with three new books featuring popular violin exam pieces from the last few decades. Each of the books covers two grades and provides a source of appealing repertoire which can be used for lessons, recitals, and playing for fun. Violinists will find a wide variety of best-loved repertoire originating from all around the world and spanning all musical periods, including classical, folk and dance styles. ABRSM grade markers give an instant indication of difficulty, which helps inform recital planning or players looking to discover new music.

A word from the compiler

Penny Stirling, the series compiler said "Compiling these pieces for Encore Violin made me realise what a fantastic choice of repertoire we are lucky to enjoy. The books include footnotes to facilitate deeper understanding and engagement with the music, signposting the key skills each piece develops and providing background information and ideas for exploring the music.
